Up to 60 percent of time can be saved in control cabinet wiring by using bundling technology. This is why CadCabel and Eplan are intensifying their strategic partnership in the interests of joint users. While the Eplan platform has a data interface which is tailored towards CadCabel production, CadCabel provides Eplan users with individual item and routing information tailored to the requirements of individual wire production based on its comprehensive database.

Monheim/Hohengandern, 27 November 2012: CadCabel, which has been offering innovative bundling technologies to support efficient control cabinet work for over 15 years, and engineering solutions provider, Eplan, are reinforcing their strategic partnership. The overall aim of this cooperation is to provide software support for production and assembly processes in line with control cabinet wiring. According to manufacturer CadCabel, component production and pre-wiring by means of wiring bundles and appropriate labelling can reduce wiring times by up to 60%. The wire lengths required for the production process, including information for wire production, bundling and labelling, are calculated and provided in Eplan Pro Panel. In order to support its own production processes, CadCabel provides specific product and routing information such as connection information, and wiring types and coding within a customer-specific database.

Increased planning reliability
The shared aim of Eplan and CadCabel is to allow users to have a consistent process from circuit diagram creation through virtual assembly in 3D, NC production integration and wire and cable routing through to a wiring bundle which is ready to fit. "With this kind of production integration, we provide our shared customers with increased quality, sustainable reduction of time-to-market and a noticeably higher level of planning reliability," according to Hans-Peter Hanzel, CEO of CadCabel AG. "We offer our shared customers not only an interface for perfect integration of engineering and automated production," adds Dieter Pesch, Head of Research & Development and Product Management at Eplan. "Both partners also stand for high levels of expertise in process analysis, consultancy and specific process optimization for our customers' product development". The cooperation partners are geared towards consistent, system and process-compatible provision of all the data required for automated production of production-ready wiring bundles.

In brief:
Users can benefit from considerable increases in efficiency in product development of control systems by optimizing their interdisciplinary processes. This ranges from electro-technical configuration via software-based virtual assembly set-up through to production and assembly
